Liurai Primary School, in the remote Turiscai sub-district of Manufahi district, was one of two schools to receive school furniture and equipment from Eaglehawk Primary School in Central Victoria, Australia, in late 2002. Due to the fact that the mountain roads were unpassable, the children and parents from this Primary School were obliged to carry the tables and chairs over 20 kilometres from the district capital of Turiscai to the school!
